Focused on the field of otologic and neurotologic microsurgery with particular focus on the microsurgery of the middle ear, benign and malignant microsurgery of the skull base and posterior cranial fossa.

Studied the problems of using the transfacial approach to reach malignant tumors in the facial skeleton with endoscopic microsurgery.

Worked for more than ten years to perfect reconstructive techniques for the cranial nerves via nerve grafts and microsurgical anastomosis, reconstructive techniques via pedicled and free microvascularized flaps in the oncological demolition of the oral cavity and neck.

Undergone training at renowned international institutes to further study otologic and neurotologic problems, including the Barrow Neurological Institute, Phoenix (AZ) with Prof. Robert Spetzler in 1993 and 1996, the ORL Clinic at the University of Zurich with Prof. Ugo Fisch in 1991 and the Skull Base Surgery Center in Charlottesville, Virginia 1991.

Specifically trained in treating salivary gland pathologies, oral cavity neoplasties and the related reconstructive techniques as well as the surgical techniques to treat cancer of the larynx and hypopharynx.

Part of a Regional Commission to Create a Network to Study and Prevent Infant Deafness: Auditory Network in 2003.
